CHALLENGE
A Fortune 1000 corporation reached out to Bucom to assist in planning and executing an inspiring incentive trip for their top achievers. Cabo San Lucas of the Baja Peninsula had already been selected as the location, but the client planning team realized mid-project that they needed additional support to elevate the program, with the goal of showcasing the company’s brand and including memorable group and individual activities. Our plan was to create an exciting week with many entertaining experiences that would give these top achievers the chance to really enjoy themselves and build camaraderie.
METHOD
Cabo San Lucas was the perfect setting for this group of 42 and from the first save the date teaser sent to their homes including trip information and mojito kits, the theme and overall branding were building the excitement and momentum for the reward trip.
For the five-night trip, we customized attendee registration sites and gave all of the attendees the opportunity to select the individual activities that most suited them. These activities included golf, spa, beach days, boating, and the opportunity to participate in a group scavenger hunt, which had an element that allowed them to give back to the community. As soon as they arrived in Cabo San Lucas, these top performers were celebrated and smoothly transferred to the hotel. Waiting in their rooms on arrival was a branded beach tote with Maui Jim sunglasses, hats, and beach towels.
While on-site, Bucom provided a Hospitality desk to answer questions, facilitate the restaurant selections, and to have a familiar face for the attendees during their stay. Evenings included a medley of innovative dinner experiences, from traditional Baja to beachside-casual and their first-ever gala awards event.
RESULTS
Our team provided a seamless experience, executing each program component including air travel, hotel negotiations, registration website including activity selection, guestroom accommodations, food and beverage planning, activity coordination, and a gifting component.
The client and the top achievers left their week in “paradise” extremely satisfied and we highlighted their incentive experience by giving them the opportunity to share it with their team members via various social platforms giving everyone the motivation and drive to excel and achieve for the following year’s reward trip.
