Reflections from Cvent CONNECT 2026

At Bucom, we believe the strongest meetings are personal by design, built for complexity, and proven in the details.

Delivering on that promise requires experienced people, thoughtful planning, and technology that supports the experience without getting in its way. That is why our partnership with Cvent continues to be such an important part of how we serve our clients.

After spending several energizing days at Cvent CONNECT 2026, we returned with new ideas, stronger relationships, greater insight into where the platform is headed, and even more excitement about how we can use its evolving capabilities to support the meetings and incentive programs we manage.

Congratulations on an Exciting New Chapter

First, we want to congratulate the entire Cvent team on its impressive rebrand.

The new identity is bold, energetic, and forward-looking, but the most meaningful change goes beyond its visual elements. Cvent’s renewed focus challenges the industry to expect more from meetings and events and to recognize the value they can create for an organization.

That message strongly resonates with Bucom.

We have never viewed a successful meeting as one that simply happens on time and on budget. Those fundamentals matter, but they are only the beginning.

A thoughtfully designed meeting can align a sales organization, introduce a new strategy, celebrate achievement, strengthen company culture, build relationships, and give attendees a clearer sense of what comes next. Our role is to understand what each client needs to accomplish and then shape every detail around that purpose.

Cvent provides an important technology foundation that helps us bring those experiences to life.

Technology That Supports the Entire Experience

For Bucom, Cvent is much more than a registration platform.

We use its technology to support attendee registration, personalized communications, meeting websites, reporting, mobile experiences, agenda management, and many of the interactions that take place before, during, and after a program.

When those components work together, they create a more seamless experience for both attendees and client planning teams.

An attendee receives the right information at the right time. A client can access current registration data and make more informed decisions. Our team can maintain consistency across communications while still responding personally when an individual attendee needs assistance.

That balance is essential to the Bucom approach.

Technology should make an experience feel easier, but it should never make it feel less personal. The platform supports the infrastructure, while our team provides the judgment, service, and accountability that turn that infrastructure into a successful program.

Innovation with Practical Value

One of the clearest themes throughout Cvent CONNECT was the growing role of artificial intelligence in meeting and event technology.

Cvent showcased how AI can support planners across the meeting lifecycle, from creating content and organizing information to simplifying routine tasks and helping teams access insights more quickly.

As meeting professionals, we are not interested in AI simply because it is new. We are interested in what it allows us to do better.

Can it reduce repetitive administrative work? Can it make important information easier to access? Can it help us identify potential issues earlier? Can it give our team more time to concentrate on our clients and their attendees?

The product demonstrations and conversations throughout CONNECT showed a continued focus on those practical applications.

For Bucom, AI is not about replacing the relationship between a planner and a client. It is about reducing the administrative lift surrounding that relationship.

When technology can help organize information, summarize complex details, streamline routine processes, and surface useful insights, our team has more time to focus on program strategy, creative problem-solving, contract decisions, attendee needs, and the many details that require human experience and judgment.

That is where AI becomes genuinely valuable: not as a substitute for personal service, but as a tool that helps us deliver it more effectively.

“Cvent provides the infrastructure. AI reduces administrative lift. Bucom provides the judgment and accountability that make technology useful.”

Bringing New Ideas Back to Bucom

One of the greatest benefits of Cvent CONNECT is the opportunity to move beyond broad product announcements and spend time exploring how the platform actually works.

The conference offered expert-led sessions, hands-on learning, product demonstrations, and conversations with the people who build and support the technology.

I attended sessions including Building Unforgettable Websites and the first-ever Cvent Power User Build-Off.

Cvent CONNECT 2026 Breakout Session and Education

The website session provided practical ideas that can help us continue improving the registration sites we create for our clients. A meeting website is often one of an attendee’s first meaningful interactions with a program. Its design, organization, and ease of use begin shaping expectations well before the attendee arrives.

The Power User Build-Off offered a different experience. I was not entirely sure what to expect and, admittedly, expected to perform a little better. Regardless of the outcome, it was a fun way to test my knowledge, learn from other experienced users, and better understand where we can continue expanding our capabilities.

The greatest value will come from bringing those lessons back to the broader Bucom team.

Our goal is not for platform knowledge to sit with one individual. We want to continually strengthen how our entire team uses Cvent so that every client benefits from more efficient processes, stronger communications, and a better attendee experience.

Personal Service, Powered by Better Information

Cvent’s reporting and attendee data also support an area where Bucom places tremendous importance: the details.

A registration response may signal a dietary need, an accessibility request, a flight change, a hotel requirement, or another consideration that affects the attendee’s experience. On its own, data is simply information. Its value comes from how carefully and thoughtfully it is used.

Our team reviews that information, follows up where clarification is needed, communicates it to the appropriate partners, and works to ensure that individual requirements are not lost within the scale of the larger program.

This is an important distinction in how we think about technology.

Cvent helps us collect and organize information. Bucom uses that information to make informed decisions and deliver personal service.

That combination allows us to manage complex programs while still recognizing that every registration record represents an individual person with their own questions, preferences, and expectations.

The Power of Being in the Room

While the educational sessions and product announcements were important, some of the most valuable moments at Cvent CONNECT happened outside the formal agenda.

CONNECT created countless opportunities to reconnect with longtime friends, meet new colleagues, and continue conversations that may have started months or even years earlier. From organized networking events and evening celebrations to quick coffee chats between sessions, the week was filled with meaningful interactions.

Some conversations were planned. Others happened simply because the right people were in the same place at the same time.

That is part of the power of live meetings.

Networking and Connections at Cvent CONNECT 2026

A brief introduction can become the beginning of a new relationship. A casual conversation can lead to a fresh idea or a different perspective. A few minutes over coffee can accomplish more than weeks of emails and scheduled calls.

At Bucom, we see this across the programs we manage. The agenda may bring people to a meeting, but the connections formed around it are often what attendees remember most. Those interactions can strengthen working relationships, build trust, encourage collaboration, and create a greater sense of connection to an organization and its goals.

This is why meeting design cannot focus only on what happens onstage.

The arrival experience, networking environments, receptions, meal formats, breaks, and informal spaces all influence whether attendees have meaningful opportunities to connect. Thoughtful planning creates the conditions for those conversations without making them feel forced or overly structured.

Technology plays an important role in supporting that experience. It can help attendees identify the right sessions, access information, and connect with others who share their interests. But the true value comes when technology helps bring people together rather than replacing the personal interaction itself.

Cvent CONNECT demonstrated that balance particularly well. The platform and educational content gave us valuable tools and ideas, while the live experience reminded us why those tools matter.

They help us create better opportunities for people to be in the room, learn from one another, and build relationships that continue long after the meeting ends.

Continuing Our Partnership

Bucom has been planning corporate meetings and incentive programs since 1987. During that time, the tools available to planners have changed dramatically, but the fundamentals of strong service have remained remarkably consistent.

Listen carefully. Understand the goal. Anticipate the details. Communicate clearly. Take ownership. Be there when the client or attendee needs help.

Cvent gives us increasingly sophisticated tools to support that work, but it is how those tools are applied that ultimately shapes the experience.

As Cvent enters this exciting new chapter, Bucom is equally excited to continue growing alongside the platform. We look forward to sharing what we learned at CONNECT with our team, exploring the latest capabilities, and identifying new ways to bring greater efficiency, insight, and personalization to the programs we manage.

Congratulations again to the entire Cvent team on the rebrand and another successful Cvent CONNECT. We are proud to continue our partnership and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.
