With the leadership retreat falling over a weekend, it was important to generate excitement from the outset, ensuring participants found the value in attending. One thing we learned from the outset – the company’s rapid growth meant that many attendees, including some of the leadership and planning team had yet to meet in person. Bucom led the team on a branding brainstorming session to understand the goals of their leadership retreat and develop a targeted event marketing campaign, beginning with the meeting theme and branding. This custom and personalized approach to ensure that all attendees felt appreciated and informed, and they saw the value in attending this event.
Dynamic Content and Seamless Show Flow
Bucom took a consultative approach, working closely with the planning team to develop a detailed roadmap and strategic planning guide. Weekly teams meetings were led by Bucom to ensure alignment on goals, agenda and budget for the leadership retreat. Working side by side, the meeting theme was developed along with the program content and flow, all reinforcing the company’s overall goals and values throughout each element of the event.
Since many attendees were new, Bucom created a buzz with an aggressive campaign that started well in advance of the retreat. This included a save the date with a video message, a pre-meeting survey to drive content, a launch of the theme and goals, dynamic pre-retreat invitations and reminders, post-retreat survey, among others.
On-site, Bucom ensured that every component of the meeting was in sync with the established goals. Attendees had the opportunity to meet and socialize with their teams, schedule one-on-one time with leadership and HR and participate in informative breakout sessions. The CEO shared the direction of the company and the goals for the coming years, highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration and staying informed about emerging trends.

Bucom helped our client realize cost savings and cost avoidance through our comprehensive line itemed budgeting process. Results
After months of hard work, the Leadership Retreat was a success. The elevated theming of the program and engaging content created a lasting impression for all attendees. The weekly planning sessions upfront with many “deep dives” into purpose and goals resulted in a meeting that was smooth, efficient and innovative.
The attendee surveys also confirmed that the goals were achieved and our client was extremely pleased with the 98% rating of excellent of the overall meeting. The planning team also gave top marks to the Bucom team expressing their appreciation of the relationship and the collaboration.
